2020 Kia Sportage SX T-GDI – Interior, Exterior and Drive. The refreshed 2020 Kia Sportage debuts at the Chicago Auto Show, and it goes on sale in spring 2019. The revised model features a new face and a slightly tweaked cabin. A sporty looking S trim joins the existing LX, EX, and SX models.
The biggest design tweaks for the refreshed Sportage are in the lower fascia that now features chrome trim that bisects the driving lights. Revised headlamps feature new LED turn signals and available LEDs for the headlights. The grille has a slightly smoother shape, too. At the back, there are tweaks to the taillights, rear bumper, and exhaust outlet. Different designs for the wheels are available, too. The color Steel Grey joins the palette of available shades.
Inside, the tweaks aren’t quite as noticeable. An eight-inch touchscreen is standard on the LX, S, and EX trims, and the system has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Kia also offers new leatherette upholstery in a material it calls Sofino. The steering wheel has a somewhat different look, and the trim around the HVAC vents has a revised appearance, too. Wireless device charging is also among the available features. The driver assistance tech expands by adding aids like driver attention warning, lane keep assist, and smart cruise control with start-stop.
The 2020 Sportage’s powertrain options remain the same. A 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder makes 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Alternatively, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 240 hp and 260 lb-ft on front-drive vehicles or 237 hp on all-wheel-drive models. Both powerplants hook up to a six-speed automatic driving the front wheels or with all-wheel drive as an option.
