2020 Lexus RX 350 F SPORT – The brand’s best selling model. Lexus invented the luxury crossover segment when it introduced its first Lexus RX some 20 years ago. As the brand’s best-selling model for most of Lexus’ history the 2020 Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h must maintain its class-leading position in this highly competitive luxury SUV market. It’s already available as a two- or three-row SUV with both standard gasoline and hybrid drivetrain options.

Now comes a range of upgrades for the 2020 RX, including exterior design improvements, new interior features and improved driving dynamics. The updates should keep the Lexus RX at the top of its game with starting price around $44,000.

The starting price for the 2020 Lexus RX 350 will be around $44,000. The 2020 Lexus RX 450h will start around $47,000.

The 2020 Lexus RX 350 uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine making 295 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. It’s available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configuration and can accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in 7.7 seconds. Fuel economy is rated at 20 mpg city, 27 mpg highway and 23 mph combined.

The RX 450h also uses a 3.5-liter V6, but it combines the internal combustion engine with an electric motor to offer 308 horsepower and improved low-end torque and fuel efficiency.

Every RX 450h includes all-wheel drive and a battery pack, making them heavier than the RX 350. This means zero-to-60 mph comes in slightly slower, at 7.9 seconds, but the RX 450h’s fuel efficiency is rated at 31 city mpg, 28 mpg highway mpg and 30 mpg combined. Both models use a continuously variable transmission, or CVT.

The big news inside the 2020 Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h involves upgraded convenience and safety technology. Standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto debut this year, as does Lexus’ new Safety System+ 2.0. This latest suite of safety tech includes pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, intelligent high beams, lane departure alert, road sign assist and pre-collision protection. Like many of its competitors, Lexus now has a “kick sensor” to open the rear hatch when your hands are full.

Driver controls have also been upgraded with the optional 12.3-inch screen now 5.4 inches closer to the driver and useable as a touchscreen in addition to Lexus’ standard touchpad control. An upgraded voice control system is now capable of recognizing a much larger range of phrases. Finally, the 3-row RX 350L and RX 450hL offer two new seating positions for the third row and available captain’s chairs for the second row, increasing the 2020 Lexus RX’s seating flexibility.

A new front grille, LED headlights and LED taillights give the 2020 Lexus RX a cleaner, more cohesive look. Those new headlights don’t just look better, they see better, too, with LED-powered “BladeScan Type AHS” technology meant to more effectively illuminate the road ahead without blinding oncoming traffic.

The 2020 Lexus RX also includes new 18-inch wheels as standard equipment and two new colors: Moonbeam Beige Metallic and Nori Green Pearl.
