Safety features including autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assist are all fitted as standard, but Nissan also offers optional safety packs for lower trims. This includes a Safety Shield Pack for £1,000, adding a 360-degree camera view, adaptive cruise control, driver fatigue warnings, blind-spot intervention and rear cross traffic alerts. There’s also a semi-autonomous ProPilot Pack (which includes the above features), that can assist with steering, acceleration and braking on the motorway for £1,300.

Renault Captur
The Renault Captur received a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP when it was tested, scoring strong results in the adult and child occupancy protection categories of 96% and 83% respectively. The car also scored 74% for its safety assist technology, thanks to a new suite of safety technology that was added when the latest model was introduced.

According to Renault, the Captur has ‘the most comprehensive range of driver assistance systems’ of any crossover, aimed at making driving simpler and safer. Available kit includes a 360-degree camera view, a Highway and Traffic Jam Companion that can help drive the car in certain situations, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and traffic sign recognition. The Captur also has updated autonomous emergency braking that can spot cyclists and pedestrians.
