2020 Nissan Patrol – Exterior, Interior and off-road driving. Nissan’s new 2020 Patrol SUV is scheduled to go on sale this month in the Middle East, featuring new exterior enhancements, higher levels of sophistication inside and improved overall tech, while retaining its solid off-road capabilities.

The Japanese automaker considers the Patrol to be an icon of its SUV heritage, engineered specifically to tackle some of the most demanding driving conditions on the planet – without sacrificing comfort.

“The Patrol is one of our longest-standing and most cherished models, with a long and proud heritage,” said Joni Paiva, regional VP of the Africa, Middle East and India region at Nissan. “The new Nissan Patrol represents the peak of luxury and ultimate capability and will continue to provide authentic experiences to its loyal customers in the Middle East and around the world.”

In terms of styling, Nissan engineers gave the 2020 Patrol / Armada a signature V-motion grille, to go with the new boomerang-shaped LED headlights. Together, the grille and optical units are meant to highlight the SUV’s strong and angular front end design.

Meanwhile, the taillight graphics are also boomerang-shaped, while the units themselves are connected via a large chrome nameplate and feature sequential turn indicators – a first for any Nissan vehicle.

Inside, there’s a new center console with dual displays that house Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, new diamond-stitch quilted leather seats with added padding, plus a new hand-stitching steering wheel. The SUV also boasts improved cooling and air-flow distribution systems for quicker cooling in hot climates.

Then there’s all the new safety gear, such as Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection and Intelligent Forward Collision Warning. These two systems join multiple Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies that were already available.

As for its engine range, the new Patrol can be ordered with either a base 4.0-liter V6 unit producing 275 HP and 394 Nm (290 lb-ft) of torque, or a 5.6-liter V8 with 400 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. These V8 models also come with Hydraulic Body Motion Control, while an All-Mode 4×4 system allows the driver to switch modes in order to handle various on- and off-road conditions.
