2021 Audi Plug-in hybrid models – A3, Q3 and Q8 (Product Presentation). From the compact class to the full-size class: The Audi A3 Sportback TFSI e and the Audi Q8 TFSI e frame the plug-in hybrid range of the brand with the four rings. The new Q3 45 TFSI eand Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e have also joined the ranks. They mark the first step into the world of electrified Q models. The sporty 45 TFSI e model will be added to the diverse portfolio of the A3 Sportback.
A3 Sportback TFSI e
Audi continues its electrification campaign in the compact class. The brand with the four rings is thereby complementing the A3 Sportback 40 TFSI e with a sporty model that has more power and more extensive equipment.
With a system output of 180 kW (245 PS) and 400 Nm (295.0 lb-ft) of system torque, the compact PHEV model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 6.8 seconds, and continues up to a top speed of 232 km/h (144.2 mph). Its fuel consumption in the NEDC cycle is 1.5 to 1.4 liters per 100 kilometers (156.8–168.0 US mpg), corresponding to 34 to 31 grams of CO2 per kilometer (54.7–49.9 g/mi). The Audi A3 Sportback 45 TFSI e always starts up on electric power. The driver can cover up to 74 kilometers (46.0 mi) according to the NEDC standard (63 kilometers (39.1 mi) in the WLTP cycle) with zero local emissions. The fully electric top speed is 140 km/h (87.0 mph).
The Q3 TFSI e
The Q3 45 TFSI e and the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e will start in the second week of January. The plug-in hybrid drive installed in both models delivers a system output of 180 kW (245 PS), and both compact SUVs can cover a distance of up to 61 km (37.9 mi) in the NEDC powered purely by electricity. In the WLTP, the distance is 51 km (31.7 mi) for the Q3 45 TFSI e and 50 km (31.07 mi) for the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e. The Q3 45 TFSI e costs EUR 46,000 (including 19 percent VAT), the Q3 Sportback 45 TFSI e EUR 1,400 more. Customers can claim a subsidy of EUR 6,750 in both cases.
The Q8 TFSI e
Audi offers the SUV Coupé in two output levels that differ in terms of their boost strategy, for example. In purely electric operation, the more powerful variant, the Q8 60 TFSI e quattro, achieves a range of up to 56 kilometers (34.8 mi) in the NEDC and up to 45 kilometers (28.0 mi) in the WLTP measuring procedure, which determines to which tax category the vehicle is assigned. The Q8 55 TFSI e quattro achieves an electric range of up to 59 kilometers (36.7 mi) in the NEDC and up to 47 kilometers (29.2 mi) in the WLTP. Up to speeds of 135 km/h (83.9 mph) their electric motors can generate the drive alone.
The Q8 60 TFSI e quattro achieves a system output of 340 kW (462 PS) and a system torque of 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft). When both drives deliver their full performance, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 5.4 seconds. Top speed is electronically governed at 240 km/h (149.1 mph). The Q8 55 TFSI e quattro delivers a system output of 280 kW (381 PS) and 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) of system torque. It sprints to 62.1 mph in 5.8 seconds, and its top speed is also 240 km/h (149.1 mph).
