2020 Opel Corsa-e – Features, Design, Interior and Drive. Opel and Vauxhall have released more details about the new Corsa-e electric supermini, including the pricing for the German and UK markets.

The automaker claims it is “democratizing electric mobility” as the Corsa-e starts from €29,900 (approximately $33,700), including VAT and before incentives (where those are applicable).

Unsurprisingly, that puts the Corsa-e on a collision course with Renault’s Zoe, which has a roughly identical base price in Germany. Opel points out that even the base Corsa-e Selection grade will offer comprehensive standard equipment.

It comes with automatic climate control with remote control, electric parking brake, keyless start, as well as the Multimedia radio with a 7-inch color touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Standard safety systems include front collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection and lane-keep assist.

There’s also a better-equipped Edition trim level that starts at €30,650 (about $34,500) and the range-topping First Edition which can be had for €32,900 ($37,000). The latter brings standard LED headlights, 17-inch light-alloy wheels, two-tone paint, and a digital cockpit. The Corsa-e First Edition can be leased for €299 a month.

In the UK, the Vauxhall Corsa-e will be offered in two trim levels, with the base one starting at £26,490 (approximately $33,600) — including the Government’s £3,500 Plug-in Car Grant. UK customers can reserve their Corsa-e starting today by paying a fully refundable £500 fee. Vauxhall says the first 500 customers to place a reservation will receive a free home charging kit when taking delivery. Lease deals start at £270 per month.

The Opel / Vauxhall Corsa-e offers a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 330 kilometers (205 miles) from a 50 kWh battery that can be fast-charged to 80 percent of its capacity in 30 minutes. The Corsa-e is powered by an electric motor rated at 100 kW (136 PS/134 hp) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque that enables it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds.

Customer deliveries of the new Corsa-e will begin in spring 2020.
