2023 Honda Pilot – Crash Test. The 2023 Honda Pilot Has Class-Leading Safety Features

Honda consistently leads the way with an impressive package of safety features, but the new 2023 Honda Pilot ups the ante. This new SUV delivers improved driver assistance and intervention features to keep your family safer in this three-row midsize SUV. Here’s what the new Pilot gives you in this family-sized SUV.

ACE stands for Advanced Compatibility Engineering, and it’s part of the new Honda architecture for the 2023 Pilot. This system offers a new structure optimized and integrated into the frame and sub-frame of the Pilot to improve its occupant protection.

In simple terms, the new structure of this three-row midsize SUV protects your family and keeps them safer than before. This new structure exceeds the IIHS Side Impact Crashworthiness Evaluation 2.0. Exceeding this standard means the Pilot should be one of the safest SUVs in this class for several years.

There are eight standard airbags in every 2023 Honda Pilot SUV. The passenger-side front airbag is a next-generation model that uses a three-chamber design with the two outer chambers made to cradle a passenger’s head and minimize rotation.

This new airbag design should minimize the potential for severe head and brain injuries to front passengers.

The new generation of the Pilot is safer than ever before, and it comes with standard front knee airbags on all models.

This new three-row midsize SUV features an improved Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance technologies. One of the most important upgrades is the addition of a new camera with a wider 90-degree field of view and wide-angle radar that offers a 120-degree field of view.

These new wide-angle cameras and radar systems enable the Honda Sensing features to prevent and avoid more collisions than in previous generations of the Honda Pilot. These new items also recognize objects and lines better than previous systems.

Honda improved the blind-spot information system to reach 82 feet of radar range. This is helpful to ensure you don’t make lane changes when you shouldn’t, which keeps your family safer on the road.

This safety package now includes:
Traffic Jam Assist
Traffic Sign Recognition
Adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow
Lane-keeping assist
Rear seatbelt reminder
Rear seat reminder
The new 2023 Honda Pilot targets the top safety ratings

Although the IIHS and NHTSA haven’t tested and rated the new Pilot three-row midsize SUV, but they will soon. The new safety features, structures, and technology of this SUV are made to hit the top marks with both organizations. This means the new Pilot should earn the Top Safety Pick+ and 5-Star safety ratings once tested.
Is this new three-row midsize SUV a good family SUV?

Edmunds gives us some highlights of what to expect from the new 2023 Honda Pilot. This new SUV goes on sale in December and is made to handle most of your driving needs. One of the top priorities for families is safety. This impressive SUV has the most advanced and comprehensive safety features in its class, making it a good SUV for families to drive.
