2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST – Interior and Trunk Details. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has made its official debut at CES 2022, arriving in both well-equipped RST First Edition and fleet-focused WT trim levels.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV was engineered from the ground up to be an EV only. Rather than utilizing the automaker’s T1 truck platform, the Silverado EV utilizes a dedicated Ultium BEV platform that leverages the available 24-module Ultium battery pack as a fundamental part of the vehicle’s structure. This battery pack will provide enough juice for a GM-estimated 400 miles of driving range in both the RST First Edition and WT trim levels. This platform also utilizes independent front and rear suspension, with RST First Edition models featuring GM’s Adaptive Air Ride suspension as standard, as well four-wheel-steering for improved maneuverability.

Power in the RST First Edition trim level comes from a dual-motor e4WD system, which is rated at 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque in the available Wide Open Watts Mode. This will enable the pickup to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds. The WT, meanwhile, will feature a less powerful version of the dual-motor setup rated at 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. The fleet-focused trim level will also offer 8,000 pounds of towing and 1,200 pounds of payload “to meet the needs of organizations with sustainable transportation goals,” Chevy says.

Both the RST First Edition and the WT trim levels will feature public DC fast charging capabilities of up to 350kW, enabling the truck to add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes, based on GM estimates. The Silverado EV will also offer an onboard PowerBase charging system with up to 10 outlets, providing up to 10.2 kW of energy for worksite or recreational needs. The truck can also power a home in the event of a power outage, similar to the Ford F-150 Lightning, and is capable of charging another EV with the available accessory power cord.

The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will be offered in Crew Cab body style only across both RST First Edition and WT trim levels, incorporating a 5 foot, 11 inch bed. On the RST, the usable bed space is maximized with the available Multi-Flex Midgate, growing it to over 9 feet of storage room. The new midgate can also be combined with GM’s Multi-Flex Tailgate, growing the usable bed space to 10 feet, 10 inches. A lockable, weatherproof bed tonneau cover will also be offered at launch. As previously confirmed, the RST First Edition will come standard with large 24-inch alloy wheels, as well.

A new eTrunk will be present on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, which is described as a lockable, weatherproof compartment in the front of the vehicle that provides enough space to fit a large hardside suitcase. The RST First Edition also integrates a full fixed glass roof, giving the cabin a more open, spacious look and feel.

All RST First Edition models will come loaded with the latest technologies, including a large 17-inch diagonal LCD freeform infotainment screen, 11-inch diagonal driver instrument display and a new head-up display with a field of view of over 14 inches. The latest version of the automaker’s Super Cruise hands-free driving system with trailering capability will also come standard on RST First Edition models.

The WT trim level will be the first to arrive in spring 2023, boasting a GM-estimated driving range of over 400 miles. This version of the truck will feature the largest battery available, with cheaper versions of the WT set to arrive at a later date with a starting price of $39,900 before destination and freight charges. The fully-loaded RST First Edition will launch in the fall of 2023, with prices starting at $105,000 not including DFC. Chevy says that after production ramps up, it will “unleash the full Silverado EV portfolio,” including a Trail Boss variant and other models occupying the $50,000, $60,000, $70,000 and $80,000 price ranges.

Reservations for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV will open at 1 p.m. EST on January 5th, 2022 via Chevrolet.com.
