Bentley has unveiled its latest masterpiece from Mulliner, the bespoke division known for crafting some of the most exclusive vehicles in the world: the Bentley Batur Convertible. This luxurious convertible follows the exquisitely handcrafted Bacalar barchetta and Batur coupe, continuing Mulliner’s tradition of creating bespoke, individually tailored vehicles. The Batur Convertible not only exemplifies this custom craftsmanship but also introduces a new design direction for future Bentley vehicles. It retains the advanced 750 PS 6.0-litre W12 engine, representing one of the final uses of this iconic powertrain as its production ends this summer.
The design of the Batur Convertible incorporates elements that enhance both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. It features a convertible roof system that transforms from a hardtop to an open-air grand tourer in just 19 seconds, even while moving at speeds up to 30 mph. The interior design is focused on providing a cocoon-like, luxurious driving experience with features like a ‘wraparound’ cockpit inspired by the Bacalar and dramatic ‘airbridge’ and tapered cowls that enhance the car’s dynamic silhouette while offering practical luggage space. This blend of form and function ensures that each drive is not only comfortable but also visually captivating.
Bentley’s commitment to personalization is showcased throughout the Batur Convertible, offering clients a near-endless array of customization options. This includes a vast choice of colors and finishes, unique materials like 3D-printed rose gold for touchpoints, and intricate hand-painted graphics. Each of the 16 units to be produced will be meticulously handcrafted at Bentley’s carbon-neutral facility in Crewe, England, making each car as individual as its owner.
