While retaining its prominent trim around the wheels, it adopts more angular shapes. Its flanks mimic the relief of the Tucson , while its bumpers and its optical units are a mixture of robustness and techno design, in particular the pixels derived from the IONIQ 5 .
One of the most eye-catching elements, of course, is the thin light strip as daytime running lights. The designers took inspiration from the Staria van , which we don’t have here, and they did it again with the taillights. It gives the Kona a whole new look!
In addition, it should be mentioned that the dimensions of the vehicle increase, both in length (+150 mm, of which 60 mm at the wheelbase) and in width (+25 mm) if we base ourselves on the Kona electric . What about the new 19-inch rims? Not bad.
Great interior transformation.
The interior of the 2024 Hyundai Kona changes radically, following the mold of the company’s new models, especially the electric ones.
The control and instrumentation interface consists of two 12.3-inch screens. The redesigned and refined central block eliminates in some cases the gear lever, which is replaced by a selector behind the steering wheel.
Ambient lighting is available to brighten up the decor. Finally, the designers have revised the seats in both rows for more comfort. Space is maximized and that goes for the trunk too.
Technical details and information specific to the different markets are not yet available, but we can already tell you that all models, regardless of their engine, will be based on the same platform. Naturally aspirated (147 hp) and turbocharged (195 hp) engines will be back, obviously.
