Hyundai’s e-Corner Embarrasses GMC Hummer’s Crab Walk in demo video. Hyundai Mobis unveils its new e-Corner technology, which makes the GMC Hummer’s crab-walking feature look inadequate. Mobis, the global parts vendor and innovation department of the South Korean brand, demonstrated the technology using an Ioniq 5 at CES 2023. The e-Corner system has each wheel mounted to its own independent electric motor and is equipped with steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technology, allowing the wheels to operate independently, enabling the car to maneuver in new ways such as parallel parking with ease. It’s advanced than anything seen before in the market, although the technology is expected to debut on a high-end Genesis vehicle before becoming more affordable to be implemented on the rest of Hyundai’s portfolio.
