Jeep Wrangler Crash Test. The 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4-door failed in a driver-side small overlap crash test, similar to the problem seen in the 2019 model. Despite structural modifications made by the manufacturer, the issue was not resolved. The Wrangler performed well in standard metrics, but tipped onto its passenger side after striking the barrier, leading to a marginal rating for driver-side protection. The test indicated a risk of injury to the driver’s left leg and foot and the airbag did not deploy. Rollovers are dangerous, especially for the Wrangler which lacks side curtain airbags. Stellantis had been working to address the issue since the 2019 test, but the 2019 model failed in a subsequent retest.
