New 2024 Hyundai Sonata Facelift – Best Looking Sonata Ever. A couple of days after the 2024 Hyundai Sonata was showcased for the first time, preliminary details and specifications for the compelling new sedan have been released as it celebrates its debut at the Seoul Mobility Show.

Hyundai says that the 2024 Sonata is more than a simple facelift but of the changes that have been made, it’s definitely the revised exterior that immediately commands your attention. Embodying the theme of ‘Sensuous Sportiness,’ the new Sonata now rocks a full-width LED light bar as well as a pair of hidden headlamps, a wider grille, and more aggressive air intakes.

The styling alterations continue at the rear where changes have been made to the trunk lid. New H-lights have also been installed, as has a tweaked light bar. Those who purchase the new Sonata in N-Line guise will receive an enlarged front grille, distinctive 19-inch wheels, a more striking rear spoiler, and new dual tailpipes.

Hyundai’s designers have also worked their magic on the cabin of the 2024 Sonata. For starters, it includes a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, both of which are housed within a panoramic curved display. A 12-inch Head-Up Display is also fitted, as is an improved Bose Premium Sound System with 12 speakers. The new car also supports over-the-air software updates and comes with a new Digital Key 2 that can be linked to smartphones and smartwatches running iOS and Android operating systems.

Then we get to the all-important powertrain options. Hyundai says the new Sonata will be offered with a choice between a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter hybrid electric system. Curiously, horsepower and torque specifications for these engines haven’t been announced.

What we do know is that the 2.5-liter turbo-four will be offered exclusively for the Sonata N-Line while the hybrid will be found in the Sonata HEV. The South Korean carmaker says this model includes paddle shifters and a regenerative braking system to improve fuel efficiency.

Plenty of safety technologies come standard on the new Sonata, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Highway Driving Assist. There is also an updated Remote Smart Parking Assist that allows users to park the car remotely using the smart key fob. Hyundai notes that the new model also offers improved side collision protection and “best-in-class braking performance and braking distance.” The noise, vibration, and harshness levels have also been reduced.
