The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.. The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. While the next-generation 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC isn’t even on sale in Canada yet (it will be in the spring), today the automaker is unveiling the redesigned 2024 GLC Coupe, which will land here next winter.
Once again, this model is intended as a replica of the BMW X4 , Audi Q5 Sportback and Infiniti QX55 of this world.
From the outset, you should know that the new GLC Coupé is 31 mm longer and 5 mm higher than its predecessor. Although its width does not change, its tracks have been stretched by 6 mm at the front and 23 mm at the rear, giving it a more stable posture, accentuated by the new 19 or 20 inch wheels depending on the version. In addition, its silhouette is more aerodynamic, as evidenced by the drag coefficient lowered from 0.30 to 0.27.
Designers have also improved soundproofing in the body and windscreen. On the roof, the glass panel opens 6 cm more than that of the normal GLC. For the rest, the changes are relatively discreet.
More chic and more techno interior.
The passenger compartment evolves in the same direction as we already know, the redesigned dashboard integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation and an 11.9-inch vertical touch screen in the center, slightly oriented towards the driver. The latter uses the latest generation of the MBUX multimedia system, offering an intelligent assistant more capable of understanding voice commands as well as navigation with optional augmented reality.
The decor is more chic and more techno at the same time, with an improved quality of materials. Highlight the open pore woodwork with aluminum inserts. The seats have been redesigned for more comfort and support.
At the rear, the GLC Coupe’s trunk is now capable of carrying 545 liters of luggage (45 more than before). This climbs to 1,490 liters (90 more than in 2023) by folding down the rear seatbacks, a volume greater than German rivals. By the way, a power tailgate is included as standard.
