The design of the fourth generation Santa Fe connects with Hyundai’s new SUV family look. It displays a modern and prestigious appearance complemented by the eye-catching Composite Light design and the Cascading Grille – Hyundai’s family identity. The exterior design is characterised by a powerful wide stance and an athletic, bold look. Its refined lines reinforce the car’s status at the top of Hyundai’s SUV line-up.

The all-new Santa Fe features an advanced four-wheel drive system called HTRAC, which provides an enhanced torque application depending on wheel grip and the speed of vehicle. Hyundai’s next generation four-wheel drive technology controls the torque distribution and braking power of the front and rear wheels variably. It supports drivers in all kinds of driving situations, whether on snow, slippery roads or in regular conditions, and enhances stability in cornering.

The new system still allows the driver to manually select ‘4WD Lock’, which holds the torque delivery at 50/50 until road speed exceeds 19 mph, at which point the torque distribution is automatically controlled as required. The all-new Santa Fe is available with a strong 2.2-litre diesel engine, which is equipped with both selective catalytic reduction (SCR) and lean NOx trap (LNT) technologies to further reduce emissions in conjunction with the diesel particulate filter (DPF) system. This ensures the engine meets the new Euro 6d-TEMP emission standards, and results in improved fuel efficiency. The 2.2-litre CRDi ‘R’ produces 200 PS (147.1 kW) and is available with a choice of two-wheel or four-wheel drive paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or Hyundai’s new smooth shifting 8-speed automatic.

The fourth generation Santa Fe offers one of the best-in-class safety packages and industry-first safety features. All features are part of the Hyundai SmartSense active safety and driving assistance technologies. The innovative Rear Occupant Alert monitors the rear seats to detect passengers and alerts the driver when leaving the car. The Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) with Brake Assist is a Hyundai first, too. When reversing out of areas with low visibility, the system not only warns the driver if vehicles approach from the rear – it also applies the brakes automatically. To keep occupants safe on the motorway, the new Santa Fe is also equipped with Lane Keep Assist (LKA), improved Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with bicycle detection and Smart High Beam Assist.

Passive safety is enhanced by increased body rigidity to protect passengers in the event of a collision. Hot stamping is applied over an enlarged area along with larger weld diameters, meaning the car’s overall weight is reduced, while still maintaining very high levels of crash protection. The strong and light body enhances the dynamic performance and increases passenger safety by using 57 per cent high-strength steel – the highest proportion of high-strength steel for any Hyundai vehicle.

Hyundai offers customers numerous connectivity features in the cabin. The optional 8-inch infotainment system integrates all navigation, media and connectivity features, supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as Live Services. The Display Audio function allows passengers to switch their smartphone’s content onto the system’s 7-inch display via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Santa Fe also features Hyundai’s new full head-up display that projects relevant driving and safety information directly onto the windshield. Its class-leading luminance of 10,000 cd/m2 and 8-inch image size enable not only effortless daylight visibility but also faster recognition of information while keeping the driver’s attention on the road ahead.
